Activities, Social and Cultural Affairs
The office of female student affairs for activities, social and cultural affairs works on looking after the students and their issues and monitors their activities in order to prepare them intellectually, socially and athletically to implement the Islamic values in their lives and actions. The office is also concerned with providing the students with the means to achieving psychological stability which in turn enable them to excel academically while maintaining their true identity and well-mannered behavior.
Objectives of the Office:
- To work on developing the ideal student character; one that is balanced socially, psychologically, physically and intellectually within the framework of Islamic teachings.
- To develop the students' abilities to positively react to their community in order to become good and concerned citizens who are able to give to their society.
- To get the students accustomed to taking responsibility through community service in an effort to strengthen the sense of belonging to society among the students.
- To train students on leadership through student activities.
- To strengthen the bonds of friendship and kindness among students, and to strengthen the spirit of cooperation and harmony among them.
- To affirm the connection between students and their professors through student activities such as symposiums, lectures and trips.
- To straighten reckless and irresponsible behavior through engaging them in various activities.
- To discover student talents and providing them with support and guidance.
Tasks of the Office:

- Vice President for Student activities, social and cultural affairs: Handles all issues pertaining to the office such as societal supervision, student and administrative services.
- Secretary: Works with the president and vice president of the office for student activities, social and cultural affairs. The secretary office handle all administrative issues related to the office such as communication, coordination with other departments, setting up appointments for meetings in addition to many other administrative tasks.
- Staff Affairs Unit: Handles scheduling of vacations and supervision of staff and those working on the student fund.
- Copy Unit: Handles all letters and documents of the office and its copying.
- Student Activities Unit: Handles all religious, cultural and social activities such as lectures, debates, events, training seminars, trips and ceremonies. This unit aims to better invest in the spare time of the students.
This unit supervises the following clubs:
Religious Awareness Club: One of the cornerstones in student services at the University. It was founded to be among the activities unit which aims to offer support and guidance to the students in order to elevate them to the highest level of intellectual, social and moral standards. This objective is approached with utmost consideration of working within the framework of the Islamic teachings. The club aims to plant the proper foundation of awareness and understandings of the Islamic creed and morals. The clubs' Objectives are:
- Plant the love of Allah (SWT) and the Prophet (SAAW) in the hearts of the students in order to produce pure and compassionate hearts.
- To affirm the act of contemplation in the creation of Allah (SWT) and to encourage students to do so, in order to better appreciate what Allah (SWT) blessed us with.
- To strengthen the spirit of collaboration among students for good causes in order to acquire knowledge as commanded in Islam.
- To stress the basic religious principles; which will be carried down to the coming generations.
- To train students how to best use their time and the many resources which Allah (SWT) bestowed upon them and in the commands of the Qur'an and Sunnah (Teaching of the Prophet).
Cultural Club: Its objectives include:
- This club is primarily concerned with involving as many students as possible in the various religious, social, cultural and athletic activities.
- To strengthen the character of students and encourage them to overcome life's obstacles.
- To strengthen the connection between students and the recent and old Arabic literature heritage as well as encourage them to read and critique literature and poetry.
- To encourage students to well perform and compete in the various cultural competitions, and to continue to memorize and revise the Qur'an.
- To develop the students' linguistic, expressionist and literature awareness of issues and ideas in their minds. Students are to be encouraged to express those ideas and feelings whether written or verbally.
- To keep up with the modern technological processes and to discover the creativity of students in the computer science and graphics fields.
- To help students in forming their own views and opinions and to be able to express them freely and with confidence. This is to be accomplished through acquiring scientific information and motivation to use research skills and databases.
- For students to learn about personal experiences of those who excelled academically and socially in order to use them as role models and to be motivated by their success.
- To acquire a number of important scientific characteristics, which in turn will enable students to better perform academically.
Social Club: This club aims:
- To educate and orient new students psychologically in order to blend in the University community.
- To motivate students to actively participate in local and international contests in order to introduce them to the spirit of collaboration and team work.
- To find a way of positive psychological and financial collaboration between students and community members with special needs.
- To affirm the principles of stable and positive social characteristics which will enable students to overcome obstacles they may encounter in their future through self development.
- To assert the founding principles derived from Islamic teachings and University guidelines.
- To motivate students to excel academically.
- Guide and counsel students in order to excel academically and to help solve their problems.
Health Club: Its objectives include:
- To raise the health standards for students.
- To help the students acquire a number of important skills and experiences for mental and health care.
- To increase awareness of the importance of health clubs through actual visits.
- To promote world health days.
Talent Club: Its objectives include:
- Providing students with overall guidance regardless of the level of their abilities and skills through the allocation of their spare time in activities which will benefit them on the social, religious, academic, health and skill level. This can be achieved through training seminars (except for the ‘Creative Pen' seminar).
- To guide the talented students especially through developing their skills and encouraging their creativity.
- To build and strengthen their emotional intelligence through developing positive attitude which will enable them to better adapt to their social environments.
- To encourage students to excel intellectually as an aspect of true talent, through providing them with the necessary capabilities and advanced technical concepts.
- To provide training on a number of hand craft skills which benefit the students personally, as well as introduce the concept of providing them with a source of income in the future.
Guidance and Discipline Office:
- Receives and supports new students at the beginning of every academic year by organizing orientation sessions where students meet their advisors and are informed of the University guidelines and rules.
- Handles student problems received by the advisor or the office.
- Provides financial assistances for students in need after conducting sufficient research.
Investigation and Discipline: Violations of conduct are investigated as outlined in the student discipline guidelines.
Financial Unit: Handles all issues related to the budget of the office as well as receiving fees and paying for activities.
Photography Unit: Handles the following tasks:
- Handles all photography needs for students and staff.
- Laminating student ID cards.
- To supervise the student private funds, registering students, receiving fees, assigning keys to students and receiving them back at the end of the semester.
Storage Unit: Includes the various items and objects belonging to the Office of Student Affairs.
Scribers Unit: Writes the various announcements and banners for the Office as well as decorations for some of the student activities.
The Student Fund: Among the most important units of the Office of Student Affairs, this fund provides several direct and indirect services to students. Among its objectives are:
- To provide financial assistance to students with difficult financial conditions after conducting sufficient research.
- To pay for the various student activities.
- To fund the furnishings of the Office of Student Affairs.
- To pay the salaries of students working at the Student Fund.
Financial Aid:
It is well known that the financial conditions of students affect their competence and performance. The University adopted this knowledge and offered students the possibility of acquiring financial aid in order to provide them with stability and peace of mind. The University has put forth a number of guidelines to govern this process for maximum effectiveness.
Student Employment
The office employs a number of students in order to introduce them to the necessary capabilities and management skills which will benefit them after graduation. Students are paid a maximum of 507 Riyals a month from the Student Fund (39 hours a month at 13 Riyal an hour)
