College of Education for Girls, Scientific Departments Overview: Founded: 1419 AH Origin: The College of Education for Girls, Scientific Departments in Makkah became independent of the College of Education for Girls (in Makkah) at the beginning of the academic year 1418/1419 AH. It comprises three departments: 1- Department of mathematics, which was started in 1410 AH, after transferring it from the College of Education for Girls (in Makkah) 2- Department of chemistry, which was started in 1418 AH 3- Department of biology, which was started in the academic year 1420/1421 AH Until 1423 AH, the College of Education for Girls, Scientific Departments was subordinate to the General Presidency of Girls' Education, then it was transferred to the Ministry of Education after dissolving the General Presidency of Girls' Education. At the beginning of the year 1428 AH, all colleges of education in Makkah were administratively, financially and academically transferred to Umm Al-Qura University. This marked a new phase full of hope and ambition. The curricula of the college were modified more than once to suit the requirements and academic developments of each phase in accordance with its available resources. In addition to its academic departments, the college has always included various administrative and support departments, even before it was transferred to Umm Al-Qura University. The college also has a library for the students and a number of classrooms connected to a closed-circuit television. The College of Education for Girls, Scientific Departments (in Makkah) has continued its postgraduate programs that it had started before its separation (Department of Mathematics) and has also launched new postgraduate programs (Department of Chemistry). The college has also provided students who want to continue postgraduate studies in other colleges due to shortage in resources (faculty, laboratories, etc) with the opportunity to do so. Deans:
